That '70s Show!!!

Welcome to the 70s! Complete with long hair, bell bottoms, "questionable" brownies....and Dharma!! Do I need to say how much I LOVED last night's Sawyer-centric episode? We start off with the left-behinders time shifting again as John is being lowered into the well. This time the island goes WAY, WAY back in time....and we get a glimpse of this.....

....even if it was for just a split second until they flashed again! The infamous 4-toed statue!!! My jaw dropped when I saw this!! As you can see from this pic, this seems to be an Egyptian statue, possibly Horace or Anubis. This would tie-in all the Eqyptian themes of the show, such as the heiroglyphics in the Swan station, Hurley always drawing the Sphinx or the Pyramids, etc. As far as the necklace, it is an Egyptian ankh. Here is some info on it.

The ankh was the Egyptian hieroglyphic character that read "eternal life". Egyptian gods are often portrayed carrying it by its loop, or bearing one in each hand, arms crossed over their chest. It is also known as the key of life, the key of the Nile.

Interesting....I wonder if Richard Alpert has one of these.

So Sawyer and Co. have stopped time traveling and are now in the '70s Dharma Initiative time period....and they have been there for 3 years. That was pretty interesting since that is how long the '06ers have been gone too. In that 3 year time span, a lot has taken place. "Jim LaFleur" is head of security with Jin and Miles in his ranks, Juliette has suddenly learned a lot about auto mechanics, (we didn't see what Daniel was doing after 3 years....probably something closely related to child-Charlotte), Horace Goodspeed is the leader of Dharma and his wife, Amy, has the first baby we have seen delivered safely on the island. The question is....who is that baby boy??? Some speculate it could be Ben, others say it is Ethan. I think it is someone more imporant than that. Maybe it is Jacob??? Hopefully we will find out soon. We also find out there was a truce between Dharma and The Others....that is until Sawyer killed some of them. This explains how Dharma was able to build the different stations around the island without the interference from "hostiles." Luckily, Sawyer's fast-talking conman skills helped reestablish the truce and all is well once again.

"Hold your horses bonsai, no one's getting on any sub." Horace tells Sawyer that his people will be loaded onto the sub and transported to Tahiti first thing in the morning. This is just what Juilette wants, what she has wanted for a long time.......but then she has a change of heart and stays 3 more years. What would cause her to do such a thing????

I have to admit, I was not keen on the Juliette/Sawyer love story that has been building this season. I have always been a "Skater" (Sawyer + Kate = Skate). However, after watching last night's episode, even I have to agree that Juliette and Sawyer seem pretty good together. Now that Kate and Jack are back though, this crazy love square is going to get pretty interesting.

*****************SPOILER*****************SPOILER****************SPOILER*******

Speaking of Jack and Kate....and Hurley.....in the next episode, "Namaste," we see them inducted into Dharma. We also see that Sayid is captured as one of "The Others." So all this time, he's been hanging out with Richard.....always the smart one, that Sayid. Below is a promo pic for the next episode which will not air for 2 WHOLE WEEKS!! I am already having withdrawls. Hopefully I will find something to blog about between now and then!!
