"What lies in the shadow of the statue?"

All I will say about this scene is Ilana & Co. = Widmore's team....my theory. After all..."There's a war coming, John."

How can anyone deny that LOST is the best show on television after last night's episode, Dead Is Dead?? My family tends to laugh at my obsession with this show and my son thinks I am a nerd because I blog about it every week. Do I care??? Nope. Then there's my husband who teases me about it, but he is a big "closet fan" so I know he loves to watch it as much as me....just like Top Model. Sorry honey...I called you out on that one.

Interestingly, Widmore from 1977 seems like a pretty nice guy. He and Ben actually have a fairly pleasant conversation. Of course, neither one of them have tried to kill any family members at this point, (that we know of) so that would only make sense. I wonder if Widmore does in fact let Ben stay with them for a while or if he will make him go back to Dharma. I think he will let him stay and that is why Ben doesn't remember the "Losties" being in Dharma.

Even as a kid, Ethan was a killer at heart. I wonder how he comes to be a member of The Others though. He looks about the same age as Ben did when he was shot. Maybe Sayid got hooked on the happy drugs from Oldham and was tripping out and shot Ethan too because he thought he was Ben. In any case, Ben showed us that he does, in fact, have a heart when he did not kill Danielle. However, if he really had a heart, he would have left the baby with her. It's interesting that we now know that Danielle was never crazy and everything she said was absolutely true. I was happy to see this side of Ben though because I have always been a Ben fan and hopeful that he is in fact a good guy.

Okay...who saw that one coming? I sure didn't. I figured Cesaer was going to be with us for a while. Maybe he is still alive and just injured after Ben shot him, but who knows. I didn't really like him anyway, and John didn't seem to like him, so if John didn't like him, I don't like him. lol!!

Forget kevlar. They need to start making body armor out of milk. I did panic a little when Ben shot Desmond and went after Penny. He was a man on a mission, that's for sure. Then, once again, he showed us his soft spot for kids and decided against it. Just in time for Desmond to do this....

Don't mess with Desmond, brotha. I miss Desmond. I hope he will be back in other episodes soon, which I'm pretty sure he will. Now that it seems Penny has been saved, I wonder what could possibly make him go back to the island though? My money's on Widmore.

Creepy smokey returns. The judgment of Ben was just awesome. For the first time, Ben really does not know what to do and is not in control. It is all in Locke's hands now. Somehow I think Ben is going to have a hard time giving up power to Locke though. Smokey/Alex may bring their wrath down on him yet. At least this episode showed Ben actually does have a heart where Alex is concerned. Is that the only good part of Ben??? We shall see.

This is one of the shots of the heiroglyphics in the smokey temple scene. You may have seen it. So, what does it mean?? Below is a very interesting theory I found. Once again, I must thank DarkUFO for the screencaps I post here. Next week's episode will have a lot to live up to after last night, but it will have Miles and Hurley in it, so at least it should be comical. Only 5 episodes left this season! My withdrawal symptoms are beginning to surface. :D

****************

Ammit

Other Names: Eater of the Dead, the Devourer.

Patron of: Destruction of the souls of the wicked.

Appearance: A demon with the head of crocodile, the torso of a leopard and the hindquarters of a hippopotamus.

Description: Ammit sits beneath the Scales of Justice before the throne of Osiris where she waits for the daily flow of souls to come before Osiris for judgement. During the Judging of the Heart, if the deeds of the soul being judged are found to be more wicked than good, Anubis feeds the soul to Ammit. This results in the total annihilation of the person, and there is no hope of further existence.
