Since having the kids, I haven't had much of a chance to play piano. The minute I sit down at the keyboard, it's almost like entering another world where it is just me and the piano. It is a wonderful, relaxing time to just sit and play all the familiar songs to me, or maybe learn some new ones. My mind washes full of memories as I play. From the first song I learned to play (Long, Long Ago)....to Blueberry Hill.....to We Didn't Start the Fire....as I play, I am filled with a special memory for each tune. Though I don't play as much as I used to, I still long for those little moments I can escape with my first love.

My little model
During Emily's dance class this week, I brought my camera along and got some shots of Dylan while we waited. He was quite the little model, I must say. Here are some of the shots.

Twilight Zone
Okay, so I was practicing shutter speed as well as trying to be creative with contrast. It was hard to set the camera up to take the shot and then hurry to turn the pen so the disk spun. Still, it was fun trying to get the shot. I still don't think I quite got the look I was going for, but hopefully you get the idea.

Heelarious
I came across this website today. I soooo would have gotten these for my little girl if she were still 0 to 6 months old. (They only go up to 6 months). They are "squishy" high heel shoes for girls. Talk about a diva princess (which is just what Emily is)!!! In any case, if anyone has a little girl 0 to 6 months old (or is thinking about having one anytime.....TEARZ), these are too cute not to share. http://www.heelarious.com/index.php

Stand Up!
I think everyone gets touched by cancer in one way or another. No matter the type, breast, colorectal, prostate...the list goes on and on. On September 5, the three major networks hosted Stand Up To Cancer to raise money for cancer research. It was a great show and if you missed it, you can probably catch clips of it on You Tube. Think about making a donation for someone, anyone, you know that may be affected by cancer. Everyone, just Stand Up!

Making grass green
This is a take-off of a lesson I learned from "my mentor", Michael Andrew (http://www.michaelthementor.com/). Since I do not have the full version of Photoshop, I did what I could with PS Elements. It really makes a picture look so much better IMO.
